The famous artist, Marshall Mathers, popularly known as Eminem, is the latest celebrity to get on to the NFT buzz. He partnered with the Gemini NFT platform to release his first Non-Fungible Token on Sunday, April 25, 2021.
It could have been the recent skit on Non-Fungible Tokens that inspired the rapper. In the Saturday night skit, a rapper played by Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson describes what Non-Fungible Tokens are to the tune of Without Me by Eminem.
Eminem will not be the first artist to launch a Non-Fungible Token as we have seen the likes of Snoop Dogg, A$AP Rocky, Grimes, Kings of Leon and others in the NFT aspect of the crypto industry.
Talking about the collection, Eminem said he has been collecting since his childhood, from comics to toys and cassettes of rap albums accessible to him. He said he has attempted to redesign some of the collections from his childhood and, he is not alone.
There are three forms of Non-Fungible Tokens available for sale, all of which are superb animations with a unique beat produced by himself. There are fifty editions of each of the first two immutable Tokens that cost 5,000 USD, and they are Tools of The Trade and STILL DGAF.
The early bird buyer will receive a physical print containing his autograph. The third asset is titled Stan’s Revenge. Which will be sold to the highest bidder as it is just only one piece available. It is unclear who minted the Non-Fungible Tokens.
NFT has been a significant step in tokenizing assets, arts, music, sport, fashion and bringing crypto closer to the masses.
Most celebrities coming into crypto are not for the technology but rather for the money. Invariably, tech is advancing due to the exposure they are bringing in. All celebrities have their fans. Any of them who do not have a crypto idea will probably get to know it, thereby getting us closer to the global cryptocurrency adoption goal that we have been aiming for long ago.
